DON'T SLEEP ON Mozilla's Kitchen!

I am going to admit right now, I am EMBARRASSED that I was unaware and had not eaten at Mozilla's Kitchen before last weekend. They have been in business since 2022 and their family's story is incredible. I don't say this lightly when I tell you each and every bite is flavor simmered in their love of food and family!

Now, what we ate was incredible. To date, this is my first five-star visit (even over City Hall). The location itself is a bit hidden. On the far west end of a strip shopping area just behind the Church's Chicken and next to Goldie's on that funny service road off of 86th in Owasso. Walking in, it didn't visually read Mediterranean, but it sure did smell the part! It is VERY CLEAN inside the restaurant. The walls are adorn with classic cars and Americana, rather than what you normally expect of a Mediterranean restaurant.

Take your time looking at the menu. They have a substantial amount of different items from

which to choose. First you may be lulled into thinking it is basically, vegetables, falafel, chicken or Lamb and Beef. But, don't forget about the black bean burger, make sure you check out their delicious hamburgers made with incredible beef and seasonings, check the sides - their fries are crispy and delicious, but they have lentils and salads too - don't be hasty before checking all of that out AND the Specials Menu on the side.

There were three of eating last Saturday. All of opted for one of their protein bowls. I had the lamb and beef, while my wife and mother-in-law enjoyed the chicken bowl. The protein bowls come with chosen meat, lentils, greek salad, tzatziki sauce, pita bread and hummus. We also ordered an order of two falafel and their harissa sauce. First, ALL of the meats were so flavorful, so well spiced, so rich - they were mind blowingly good. The texture and flavor of the hummus was fresh and a nice relief to the richness of the meat and tzatziki. Speaking of which, you could taste the deep herbs in the tatzki sauce and it was creamy, just thick enough to hold and had a perfect amount of bite/twang, without being too sour or off-putting. The lentils were a great base and I ended up mixing them with bites of meat and hummus. The salad had a nicely vinegared dressing added needed relief during deep bits of the other sauces. The pita was like eating a pillow. Admittedly, I was watching some of my carb intake, but I couldn't resist loading up a wedge (or two) with meat, sauce, salad and lentils.

As we all took a breather from these deep and delightful protein bowls, my mother-in-law and I turned to the falafel. My fear was these would be over-fried and greasy. They looked golden brown, but we have all had a mealy, tasteless ball of fat. OH NO!!! These were crisp on the outside, soft on the inside with gorgeous flecks of fresh herbs. I don't know this for a fact, but it tasted like they had added onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin and maybe some coriander to the chickpeas. Now, I am not a fan of harissa sauce. I will always dip my falafel in tatziki. However, I tried this harissa and it was good...dare I say, real good.

We were all stuffed to the gills, but as we checked out, I spotted their glass cabinet filled with

gorgeous desserts. Although I knew we wouldn't eat at during that seating, we would enjoy some sweets at home. We choose the pistachio cake and baklava. We ended up eating those the next evening and they were good. The baklava was a bit better than the pistachio cake to me, but my wife thought the reverse. The main course were still our favorites, but as you can see, not photos of the desserts means they didn't last long; so make sure you order those to try them for yourself as well! We commented while at home eating dessert that they would make a great catering options (which they do cater) and they have an app as well for easy ordering.

So what did this feast for three run us? Everything mentioned plus three drinks and a tip was around $55. Honestly, we were so thrilled about the experience, I forgot to keep the receipt - I think their food will have the same effect on you! Go support this local family and let them share a great tour of the Med through their distinctively delicious point of view!
