A Little Babble About The Bramble (Pearl District Location)

In all transparency, The Bramble has been a mainstay of my culinary tool box for many years. This time, I was able to not only enjoy the food myself, but I invited a friend who just recently move to Tulsa who had not eaten at The Bramble. I have eaten at both locations, this time we chose to dine at the location in the Pearl District (close to where much of The Lowdown television show was filmed).

As always, the staff was very friendly when my friend Ron and I entered the restaurant. We were third in line, but the wait wasn’t long at all. Candidly, considering it was on a Thursday during a regular week, I was surprised there weren’t more people there and/or waiting.

Our server was extremely patient with us as Ron and I caught up on conversation. Once we finally turned our attention to the menu, I ordered the standard fare I always enjoy which is the regular Avocado Toast with two eggs sunny side up and an order of Latkes. As a first timer, Ron was a little swamped by all of the choices on the menu, so he asked our server for some advice. He ended up ordering the Fried Chicken Poutine and then we finished up with a Bourbon Pecan Pancake.

The time to prepare the food did seem a little longer than normal and, although the service is top-notch, our table went a little thirsty a couple of times prior to our food service and once during our meal. I’m sure it was just a misstep, but was noticeable.

The presentation of the food was gorgeous. The eggs on both my plate and Ron’s were as ordered and the latkes and Bourbon Pecan Pancakes were ready for the picking!

I cut straight into my egg yokes and let the yoke drip like a foot waterfall down the radish salad and toast. I looked up and Ron was already mixed and fixed on his poutine. As always, the combination of the creamy avocado, salads and egg was delightful. The latkes were crips and creamy on the inside.

Ron finished his dish and turned to the Bourbon Pecan pancake. By this time in the meal, I was quite full, so he ended up tasking that alone. He fished the pancake and declared to to be the start of the show!

We chatted a little longer and the table was partially cleared, but again, we had to ask for refills on water and coffee. Leaving the restaurant, the friendly staff was very cordial and it was a meal compared. For two people eating two mains, one side and a side of pancake, the entire meal was $60 with tip. I had a black coffee and Ron stuck with water.

A descent price for the quality and amount of food served.
